The Latest Victim of the AI Arms Race
As I noted in an earlier post, we have now reached a tipping point in the development of Artificial Intelligence. The question that we must now face is how will AI re-shape the world as we know it?
Insurance stocks took a beating this week. What about an insurer that underwrites a Company that uses AI and the AI program makes an egregious error? Who is liable – the insurance company or the insured client?
Wealth management stocks took a beating as well. Will AI be able to assess a client’s investment objectives and make investment suggestions? Will a human even be needed anymore?
Commercial real estate companies came under duress as well. As AI replaces white collar workers, will companies need to lease as much office space?
Software companies also came under pressure this week. Will companies now be able to use large language models to design in-house software? Or, will they continue buying software from software providers?
