Sugar Futures

Through the lens of planetary and lunar cycles

A daily price chart is what mathematicians call a ‘time series of data’. Fourier transform mathematics (using a Periodogram function) can be used to determine if there are any dominant cycles that underpin the time series of data. In the case of Sugar, there is a dominant cycle and it is closely related to the heliocentric orbit of one of the planets in our solar system. In addition, there are astronomers who have determined that some of the planets in our solar system exert ‘gravitational torque’ on the surface layers of the Sun. This in turn causes the Sun to emit increased amounts of solar radiation, which in turn affects our weather patterns. I go one step further and suggest that our human emotion is also affected. This comes into clear focus when one sees significant price highs and lows at planetary alignments that create maximum torque conditions.
