Several years ago I decided to join a local Masonic Lodge in the city where I lived in Saskatchewan. My reason for joining - I was a stockbroker at the time and I was learning that in the 1920s and 1930s many of the notable market traders ( such as W.D. Gann ) had been Freemasons. I needed to figure out why this was so…
It did not take me long to realize what Freemasonry was about. It was all about esoteric math, symbolism, and hidden meaning. But not everyone “got” it. To the vast majority of people in the Lodge, it was about memorizing and reciting stuff from the secret little black book that we had been given.
One bit of hidden meaning that caught my attention early on was a reference to The Morning Star. I figured out that this was Venus. The planet Venus (from our vantage point here on Earth) takes 584 days to orbit one time around the zodiac. During this orbital period, there will be times when Venus is situated between Earth and the Sun. We call this Superior Conjunction. There will be times when Venus is situated on the backside of the Sun. We call this Inferior Conjunction.
As Venus completes a Superior Conjunction it becomes visible in the early evening sky around the time of sunset. As Venus completes an Inferior Conjunction it becomes visible in the early morning sky around the time of sunrise (the “Morning Star”).
I have further come to conclude that the human psyche is heavily influenced by Venus. I believe this is why it is mentioned so prominently in Freemasonic ritual. By the way - this ritual dates back to 1700s England. I believe this ritual was designed to pass information on to future generations. Sadly, few people are able to connect the dots and realize what is going on. A handful of traders in the 1920s and 1930s made the connection and were able to apply Venus to trend changes in the stock market (market trend changes are nothing more than changes in human emotion).
One of the people who made the Venus connection was German-American astrologer Georg Bayer. He recorded his various observations in his publications in the late 1930s. One of his Rules (Rule #14 to be exact) said that when Venus advances 1 degree, 9 minutes (or multiples thereof) there should be a trend change (perhaps only a minor one, perhaps a larger change…).
In a February 18 post on Substack, I offered up some detail. I said to pay attention to the time around early March for another Venus interval.
Let’s now take a look at what has happened….
