If someone stopped you on the street and told you….from a significant pivot point high or low on a price chart, count off the price bars until geocentric Venus has moved 1 degree 9 minutes, or 6 degrees 55 minutes, or 34 degrees 36 minutes and you will arrive another pivot inflection point.
Then suppose that same person told you… “How I arrived at this 1 degree 9 minutes figure, I do not recall”.
What would you say to the person? Would you turn and run away? Would you tell that person he was crazy?
Do some math and you will see that the 6 degrees 55 minutes value is 5 times the 1 degree 9 minutes figure. The 34 degrees 36 minutes value is 25 times the 1 degree 9 minutes figure.
What does it all mean? The person cannot recall how or where he came up with the numbers. Surely there is nothing to it!
Welcome to the world of German-American astrologer Georg Bayer. In his 1930s writings he is brutally honest. He openly admits that for many of his Rules, he cannot recall how he arrived at the techniques that underpin the rules.
What we do know is that he traded Chicago Wheat futures. Here is a chart of Wheat.
Wheat futures 2023 with Bayer’s Rule #14
From two significant highs, I have drawn rectangles to show when Venus advanced 25 X the 1 degree 9 minute value. From another high point I have drawn a rectangle to show Venus advancing 10 X the 1 degree 9 minute value. From a low swing point in late November 2023, I have drawn a rectangle to show Venus advancing 25 X the 1 degree 9 minute value. Notice that price rallied sharply and then started to consolidate its gains. Just as Venus finished its 25 X move of the 1 degree 9 minute value, bang!! - price started falling. WOW!
OK….OK…. maybe this Wheat example is just dumb luck. Let’s take a look at a couple more examples. You will be shocked at what you are about to see…
Georg Bayer, in my opinion, was a genius. But he was a humble genius. He did not boast from the rooftops of New York. He just quietly went about his Wheat trading making enough money for him and his wife to travel with and to live a modest lifestyle. In the early 1940s after he had made enough to live out his remaining days he stopped writing about astrology and went into retirement.
I think there is an example to be taken away from his behavior. Life for Mr. Bayer was not about getting filthy rich and being miserable because of it. Life was about enjoyment and happiness. He worked with the markets, followed the cycles that drove the markets, made what he needed to live comfortably and enjoyed yourself.
